The Zyliss safe edge opener cuts the bead on the lid and leaves no sharp edges on either lid or can. It is just as easy to use as the top cutting type and does not drop the lid in the contents of the can nor have the top washed by the contents while opening. The top can be used as a lid on the rest of the contents. That is very nice in my kennel. The can could be cut and the seal left intact so it can easily be popped off when the contents are needed, also a sanitary plus.

I ordered what I thought was the 'old style' zyliss can opener... after all that was what was pictured. I bought the more expensive product because I loved the old style can opener, it worked well, etc...
What I received was not pictured before, but what is now pictured... 'They' apparently changed the offer after I placed my order. Very disappointed, I spent almost $20 (with s&h) on a product I was not interested in!! I should have been notified that the product changed....
The REVIEW on THIS can opener, I will have to compare it to the original product that I was expecting to receive...
1. One must hold the opener at an unnatural angle to get it onto the can. I have used it several times, but I need to turn the can opener over every time I use it to see where the can is supposed to 'go in'. The other one just slid on and locked in.
2. I don't know when I am done using the can opener... the old one would click when it was done cutting the can...Read more
