I was looking for something that didn't clutter my countertop and saw everything from $3.00 cheap ones to $300 commercial can openers. I think in every product in which I read reviews there were complaints that after a period of time the can opener didn't cut as easily nor work as well as it did in the beginning. This is true of all can openers (metal on metal cutting will cause the blade to get dull), so I decided on this can opener because it will cut any size can, I can store it away, it's electric alleviating any dead battery concerns, and most of all it's low-priced. I figured if the expensive ones were going to experience the same troubles, I might as well save some money. So far, I have not been disappointed with this can opener. Very frustrating, opened one can before something clicked inside then locked. This is not the only time I've been burned by this brand. Very cheaply made. Blade would not punch through most cans. When it did, moved at a snail's pace. Going to buy another Krups handheld. My first one lasted five years. |
