After having several other potato mashers fall apart on me during the most inconvienient situations (i.e., while mashing avocados for guacamole), and nearly being impaled in the process, I bought a Rosle. The difference is phenomenal. Rosle's products combine great ergonomic engineering with high-quality stainless construction, and the masher is no exception. Its design allows the cook to combine just the right amount of force more precisely, resulting in effortless and lump-free mashing (no more problems with cranky avocados), and it cleans up easily. I've had mine for over a month, and suspect it will be the last potato masher I'll ever buy -- unless, of course, I need an additional Rosle.

The masher is a smash design. No way to ignore that. It works very effectively too. My only hesitation to award five stars is that it's fabricated in China and I have my doubts of the durability of the item. Had I but known I would not have purchased it. I assumed a Rösle Potato Masher would be made in Germany, especially at the price charged.

A Fine Tool,

Looks great, easy, productive mashing, ideal results, very easy to clean, and very sturdy.
The round masher is less ideal, however, than an oval masher. Requires some stirring to get at potatoes next to edge of the pot (oval mashers better fit against larger inside curvature of pot). Harder to store than oval masher (does not fit in drawer).
