Buying an inexpensive mandolin can be chancy. I've worked on several that were more expensive than this one, and each was basically worthless. This slicer is sturdy, well designed and very easy to use. it comes with three slice thickness inserts and two julienne blades. It also has a handy holder for the inserts. Don't worry about the lack of instructions. It comes with one of the thickness guides already inserted. Removing it tells you everything you need to know about assembly.

This is my third V slicer, and my favorite to date... I love that it has the stand as well as the notches for bowl use, the third slicer blade, and it's RED...
It has a very hefty feel to it, and the blades really lock in place... My other two seem pretty flimsy in comparison.
I was able to get this in the Friday Sale for $19.99 with five MIU flexible cutting mats thrown in as a bonus, and FREE SHIPPING, I felt like a thief... In this case I don't mind that feeling!

I recently moved to my current address. In packing I seem to have lost my Bron V-Slicer which I adored. The Bron as gone up in price. This "RED" MIU V-Slicer looks and performs as good if not better. For a more competitive price (nice way to say lower price)has 2 additional inserts for slice thickness choice, a nice rack to store the 2 blades and 3 thickness inserts plus the food gripper has 2 guides that keep it from slipping of the slicer.
Well tought out and well made.
