Very well built can opener. It is very attractive looking as well as functional. I have a philosophy of only buying things once. I don't like purchasing a can opener every six months, so I spend a bit more and get good quality items that will last for years. You can't beat German ingenuity, especially at the price. Awesome product!

Leifheit Creative Line Tools Safety Can OpenerAfter wasting money on several different manual can openers; I found this one on the internet rated very high. I overcame my resistance to spend so much on such a mundane tool, but I have decided you can never go wrong with German ingenuity.(I have bought several items from this company and find myself very impressed with their products)Easy handling and well constructed tool.(plus it looks so classy!)

German name, made in China. Not stainless, chrome plated. Blade and drive gear rusted after one cycle through the dishwasher. So much for dishwasher safe.

Works OK for opening cans.
