Instead of working easily, the two parts spread apart and the cutter doesn't completely cut into the lid. Result: can is not fully open. Heavier gauge metal in the two major parts would solve the problem for a few cents more per item. Tilting the handle down can help minimize the problem but it shouldn't take special skills or body English to operate a simple can opener. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By CT12F3 (Boulder, CO) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Left-handed Can Opener, True Left Hand Kitchen Product I gave this can opener to my left-handed, red-color-loving mother and she really likes it.
I knocked a star off because when the can opener arrived there were some burrs near the handle one twists to operate the opener. I had to take a file and remove the burrs to avoid cuts while using. I (and you too!) should not have had to do this. After modifications - no further issues. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Left-handed Can Opener, True Left Hand Kitchen Product Every lefty knows that the world is right-handed, and life is a constant compromise and struggle.
