I took it home and made some baked beans. After the FIRST use of this can opener, it stopped working. It no longer can grip onto the rim of cans so it cannot punch into the metal. Absolutely the worst purchase I have ever made! Do not buy this product! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: KitchenAid Cook's Series Can Opener, Black (Kitchen) who made this terrible device? it takes me more than three tries to even make a slight cut around the edge of the can. what ever happened to quality control?there's no strength when I use the handles on this "can opener" and its two blades don't cut deep enough in the metal. I have not ever opened a can once with this can opener, and I've had this thing for a few years. awful awful product. I miss the good old days where can openers actually opened cans. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: KitchenAid Cook's Series Can Opener, Black (Kitchen) The black parts of the opener are solid plastic - no cushiony material for ease of opening. This is just your run of the mill can opener. It lasted a solid two years for me before it died this month. It's pretty rusty and the metal bent. **I contacted Kitchen Aid customer service through the Kitchen Aid website. No questions asked, Kitchen Aid offered to send me a replacement. It doesn't mention that in the warranty information, so I wanted to let everyone else know. The product isn't great breaking, but great customer service goes a long way with me... hence the 4 stars. |
