Product Review

The oversized knob, super sharp blade and sturdy, comfortable handles allow you to open cans quickly and easily. If food gets on the opener, don't fret, simply run this gadget through a dishwasher cycle for thorough cleaning. It even matches your white KitchenAid appliances!

Amazon.com Review

Heavy, sturdy, and stylish, this tool cuts the top off any size can with ease. It's made of 18/8 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish, with white enamel-like handles, and is dishwasher-safe. The opener's handles are shaped for a firm grip; they're weighty enough to provide control, and they have holes to facilitate hanging on a hook or peg. The opener measures 8-1/2 inches long. KitchenAid says the first year of the opener's lifetime warranty against defects is hassle-free; the company will ship a replacement at no cost and without question if a defect is detected. --Fred Brack

I was extremely diappointed in this simple can opener. It does not work. The gear and wheel will not cut smoothly and misses some spots. I've had to pry the lid of a partially opened can off several times.

I prefer manual can openers on a philosophical/aesthetic level -- not using electricity unnecessarily, not cluttering my counter -- but in reality, they are often uncomfortable, rusty contraptions I'd rather ask my husband to use. I finally splurged and got this one based on other users' recommendations.

I like it: It's comfortable -- solid, but not too heavy; no thin, flat parts to dig into my hand. Plus it's sharp and not rusting -- at least so far (2 months). I'm even washing it in the dishwasher!

I bought this can opener, the day I saw it. It is so easy to use and hold with arthritis. I open cleanly and easily and when the gunk is building up on the cutter, into the dishwasher it goes. Four years and still smoothly turning away.
