Jokari Ring pull opener,

Jokari arrived promptly. But it and any other ring puller still take a
LOT of strength to use unless you first pull the tab on the can up and
backwards to get it started opening. If you have the strength to do
that first, and then insert the Jokari, it works very well. But if you
just insert the Jokari per the directions and try to pull the can lid
off, it takes a lot of strength. At least it does on Progresso soup
cans which is what I tried it on. I tried it on an off-brand of canned
beans without getting the tab started first and it broke the ring tab off.
I blame the off-brand for making a weak ring tab. I had to get out a
hammer and screwdriver and pound around the edge of the lid to get that
can open. The moral of the story is that before using the Jokari you
have to pull that ring tab backwards so that the lid has started opening.

I bought this set of ring pull openers to give one to my mother-in-law who has almost no strength left in her hands. She can usually manage to lift the pull-tabs up a bit but can't pull them back. She was delighted by the Jokari opener as it makes opening the pull-top cans so much easier. (I am not convinced pull-top cans are an improvement overall, as they usually leave a sharp rim - what's wrong with a good can opener?)

This ring pull opener makes opening cans easy and safe. My mother, who has a bit of arthritis, absolutely loves it too. In fact, she has just asked me to order another set for her so she can give them to her friends. This is a great product for anyone to own, but especially useful for children or folks who need help with opening those pesky ring pulls safely.
