An awesome can opener!,

After daily use for 15 years or so, my old Rival can opener was finally on its last leg, so I decided to give this one a try after reading some positive reviews in other forums. Because I use a can opener daily, I need something that will perform every time. I've had this Hamilton Beach for 2 weeks now and it's great -- much smoother operation and quieter than my old can opener. I also like the fact that you can remove the entire chrome cutting assembly to put in the dishwasher. I've tried removing it and it's very easy to do so. You won't be disappointed with this Hamilton Beach can opener.

Works first time and every time in over 2 years!,

We have had this can opener for over two years and we got it because our old one of 10+ years just needed to be replaced. This one does a good job cutting off the lids and is reasonably quiet and powerful. When you push down the handle and it comes on, it continues to cut off the lid by itself and the magnetic lid catcher holds the lid away from the can.
I like that the unit has a removable cutting unit that is washable. It is a tall unit that can open a 7 inch tall can and features a patented SureCut(tm) technology that opens the can the first time, every time. The unit also has a knife sharpener on the back of the housing.
This can opener has been reliable and has worked without an issue since we have owned it.

Good while it lasted...,

Good functional can opener for about 1 year. It still turns, but the handle becomes 'stuck' and is finniky to work. In the end, after 1 year we've had enough with it. It still turns, but it won't open cans for some unknown reason. We've washed it, etc... Also, the base is a bit light for the heavier soup cans and it isn't tall enough for the tall beans cans. Buy a different can opener- not this one. My next one will be from West Bend. Always go with the best reviews!!
