Hamilton Beach 76390 Chrome Lever OpenStation Can Opener, Black

I have always thought all can openers were the same,use it for a year or so and buy a new one.I think this one may surprise me,it seems to be built much better than the others I have owned,it has a much heftier feel to it
and the quality of construction looks to be a notch above the last one I owned.One of the things that I like the best is how quiet it is in operation,it just hums along even with large heavier cans.It cost a bit more but I think it is definitely worth it.

It is unfair to give one or two stars to this item because the "label is too hard to remove." I just bought this can opener and yes, the label is not that easy to remove...but I'm looking for a can opener that works well and this one does. It is substantial enough that it should stand up to any size can and it is pretty quiet to use. I like it and would recommend it.

To those who complain about the label...for heaven's sake invest in a small bottle of Goo Gone. It costs a couple of bucks and will remove any sort of "sticky stuff" throughout your house. I put a little Goo Gone on a paper towel and wiped it on the remnants of the label and it was clean in about 15 seconds. Problem solved!

I am so glad I checked Amazon and some of its reviews when shopping for a new electric can opener. Having been frustrated looking for one, I was all ready to buy a more expensive model and reputable brand but decided to check some reviews first. Was I amazed! I was discouraged from buying several different models that I thought 'sounded' good but weren't necessarily so after reading various reviews. I narrowed it down to this Hamilton Beach model. I am very pleased with the quiet operation and the ease at which it cuts the cans. It took a few tries to get the 'hang' of it but now I handle it like a charm. The handle/blade is very easy to remove and replace for cleaning. And the magnet folds nicely out of the way. I also like the additional opener features. I have used the jar opener (which sits handy on top)several times. I am anxious to try the other opener stored at the bottom but I haven't had any plastic molded packaging to open as yet.
