It works well enough for me, but no so much for Mrs. Spudman. She has a difficult time turning the handle on this opener and now either uses the electric or asks me to open a can for her.
This manual opener punctures most cans readily and for me isn't too difficult to turn. Can edges can be sharp and sometimes the opened lid stays attached to the can by a thin piece of metal. No, this is not a state of the art manual can opener, but it's good enough to use on vacations, picnics, or electrical outages. The soft handles are comfortable and I like its red color. Forsmark (Hastings, MN United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Farberware Pro Can Opener, Red (Kitchen) Like another reviewer, I ended up buying two for the same reason that the knob cracks where the twist knob meets the can opener. First one I used for a month (couple cans a week) and the handle cracked. Second one only lasted a week and did the same. The plastic is not thick enough where it joins the can opener or it is using the wrong type of plastic. Too bad, otherwise really liked the can opener. |
