It took a bit to get used to it and at first there was a little fiddling required to set it on the can - it is a bit different to use.
I have had a lot of can openers in the last few years and so far this has lasted the longest in terms of blade sharpness. A very nice surprise as I was beginning to believe all can openers became dull almost immediately! Despite my throwing it into the dishwasher it works as well as it did when I first got it. The mechanics of it - the one handed action - I think you will either love or hate. I find it very nice and can be opening the can while draining it over the sink in one motion. Setting it on the can at first can be a bit awkward but that is really a *learning curve* kind of thing and after you use it a few times it will become second nature. It's easy to use. Equally important, it has lasted lo these many years. (I have never been able to get an electric can opener to work beyond a year.)
