Why Am I So Geeked About a Can Opener,

I'm an engineer. I buy solid, well built tools, because you get what you pay for. Craftsman, Milwaukee, Trident Wusthof, you get the idea. This is the most solid, best built canopener EVER. How frustrated are you when you have some cheap one that you have to relatch onto the can in another spot to get it going, or, it's hard to turn the crank, or leaves wicked sharp serrated edges? This does NONE of that, just goes through cans like butter, smooth as silk, a strong magnet, and comfy handle. I'll buy them again and again.

I love this can opener and use it every day. It's only downfall is the magnet. I store it in a drawer with other metal kitchen tools and I every time I want to use the can opener I have to remove various metal objects that are stuck to it.

I was disappointed in this can opener. Swing-A-Way was always made in the USA and was a good product. It was purchased to replace one from many years ago that was manufactured in the USA. The difference was very apparent right down to the weight of it and the quality of the rubber handle. I have since returned this product.
